How to outdo your fellow vacationers
Sun basking in all of its glory but if you’d like to create art through conversation, why don’t you try horse surfing? The convivial water sport horse surfing was invented in 2004 by Daniel Fowler-Prime and Matt Smith, two English horsemen from Cornwall, England. The activity requires two people, a horse, a surfboard of some kind and a tow rope attached to the saddle. The surf board rider then speeds through the waves near shore line while the other person is riding the horse at full throttle.
Fowler-Prime, being a heartfelt skater, came up with the idea to simply tow a mountainboard behind a horse. Pictures of him doing tricks on that board behind a horse spread all over the world and gave rise to the new sport.
"We are sensing horse surfing could become the conversation piece of the summer."
The first ever horse surfing contest was run 2006 in France by the kiteboarder Harold Quinquis. Meanwhile there was also a horse surfing drag race taking place. Since then, horse boarding has grown in popularity in the UK and plenty of activities and competitions are held each year. We are sensing horse surfing could become the conversation piece of the summer.
